PDplan4life awarded partnership grant

PDplan4life is proud to be among eight recipients of 2010 Partnership Grant Awards from the Parkinson Support Center of Kentuckiana (PSCKY). Our grant monies will go toward the printing and mailing of three, new educational pieces we are creating to provide information that can help people with Parkinson’s live well longer. The newsletter format pieces will focus on the themes of Exercise, Clinical Trials, and Patient Advocacy and Empowerment. Materials will be distributed on both local and national levels.

Jean and I are very excited about this opportunity to partner with PSCKY to extend the reach of PDplan4life and find new ways to serve PWP across the country. Thank you PSCKY for your generous support and your confidence in our abilities.

Let's toast our chocolate malts!

Congratulations to my good friend and co-founder of pdplan4life.com, Jean Burn,s for being named the 2009 recipient of the Milly Kondracke Award for Outstanding Advocacy. This award is given annually to “an advocate who demonstrates strength of spirit and commitment to advocacy similar to Milly (late wife of FOX News journalist Morton Kondracke), who put a public face on (PD).”

Jean is that rare combination of dreamer and doer. Her contagious enthusiasm and efforts in a variety of areas have made and continue to make a positive difference in so many lives, including my own.

Milly Kondracke Award

Jean became a PD advocate in 2003, soon after learning she had this disease. Since then, she has volunteered her skills in graphic design, website development, and incorporate training to assist organizations on all levels.

Jean’s work both with technology and her tireless schedule of speaking engagements and support group outreach make her a truly fitting choice for the Milly Award,” said Amy Rick, PAN CEO.

From Jean "It is humbling to have my name mentioned in the same breath as Milly Kondracke."

Here’s to you, my friend!
