Welcome to our World Groucho Marx often said he did not want to be part of any club that would have him as a member. Unfortunately, we sometimes have no choice in the matter. Health issues arise that make us members of groups we never sought to join, but cannot escape.
My friend Jean Burns and I were 51 and 44 years old respectively when a twitching finger turned our worlds upside down. Diagnosed with young onset Parkinson's, we set out to find a new purpose for our lives that would make the most of our skills — mine in writing and Jean's in art and design — and allow us to "give back" to the PD community for the support we have received on our own journeys with this disease.
The result is pdplan4life, our vehicle for sharing our daily challenges, triumphs, humorous moments, and coping strategies to empower others to live well with Parkinson's by our example.
Collaborating on pdplan4life is a labor of love for Jean and me, and the most personally rewarding venture either of us has ever undertaken
Your positive response has touched our lives as much as you tell us we have touched yours.
It doesn't get any better than that.
