Creativity project for WPC 2010 is a World Parkinson's Quilt |
PDPlan4life is part of Parkinson's Quilt ProjectThe upcoming World Parkinson's Congress in Glasgow will feature "the first ever global quilt project to focus the world's attention on the nearly one million people in the US and more than 4.1 million people worldwide living with Parkinson's disease (PD)." The Parkinson's Disease Foundation, is leading and implementing this Parkinson's Quilt Project for the WPC. People with PD, their friends, families, loved ones, and PD orgs in the US and around the world are invited to create and contribute as many of their own quilt squares as they like. Individual quilt sections made up of 16 squares will be joined together to make one huge quilt for display at WPC 2010. PWP in Arizona are making 16 squares that will comprise one individual state quilt section. After Glasgow, the huge quilt will be separated into individual quilt sections, which will be flown around the world and displayed at different Parkinson's events. (For more details visit the quilt website.) Of course Sheryl and I wanted pdplan4life to be a part of this world quilt! You can see a photo of our pdplan4life quilt square at right. You don't have to be a quilter or expert sewer to make a quilt square - or I couldn't have made one! See my youtube about the quilt.
